Hello everyone, I have the following question regarding multi-room: You have to combine the speakers in the B&O app for e.g. bedroom, living room or office. So I connect two of these M3 speakers together to form one room. Can I then select Spotify for this room via the normal Chromecast app and the music will then sound on both speakers? But I know that it works individually in the connection, so I would be interested in that? Thank you very much!

Do you have the black model with the "soft fabric" cover instead of the "holey" one in the picture here? B&O seems to have it, see https://www.bang-olufsen.com/de/zubehoer/beoplay-m3-cover?variant=beoplay-m3-cover-darkgrey, but wouldn't it be nice to have it as an option instead of having to order it for 60 more? If you can manage that, I would even order several from you... ;-)

Can someone who uses Chromecast with M3 tell me which "cast firmware version" (not "system firmware version") is at the bottom of the speaker settings in Google Home? Maybe make sure that the M3 is up to date beforehand, i.e. go via the B&O app. Reason for my question: My M5 is behaving strangely. Compared to my Google Chromecast Audio, it doesn't turn down the volume when I talk to the Nest Mini (= Google Assistant), and it's separate from all the other Google speakers in the Google Home when music is playing. I.e. if it plays on the M5, I can't add the Chromecast Audio, and vice versa. Google with each other works great. At over 500.- I expect more on the SW side too. M5 (from 2017) Cast firmware version: 1.28.102057 Chromecast Audio (from 2015...): 1.42.172094 As a comparison, the last version of the very first Chromecast from 2013: 1.36.xxx

The in-house software of the Beoplay Mx speakers is often criticised. However, I would like to use the Multiroom technology from Goolgle anyway, i.e. Chromecast Built-In. Does anyone have any experience with this and do I even need the B&O software in any way?

Hi, Only for initial setup and at most to tweak the sound via B&O equalizer and other device settings. But for casting etc. everything goes via in-app chromecast feature of your respective apps (radios, spotify etc) and via google home grouping and volume. The B&O app certainly won't win any Oscars, but it's not that bad anymore. Everything is stable for me and has some cool features if you want to customise the sound. But once configured and for daily use, it's no longer necessary if you only use chromecast/airplay anyway. Hope that helps. Greetings
