Hello Degendre I will be happy to try to help you again. However, it is very difficult to get a clear picture without photos of the cabling and the monitor input on the computer. You write "cable with a VDI output", which should probably mean with a "DVI output" (Display Video Interface). This is an interface for the digital and analogue transmission of video data. Now try the following: Connect the DP cable supplied with the monitor to the monitor and to the DVI adapter. Then connect the whole thing to the desktop computer. Now switch on the monitor only, without the PC. The monitor will then search for an input from the computer, but will not find one as the computer is switched off. It then goes into stand-by mode. Only now do you start the computer and then the monitor must find the correct input itself. Good luck and best wishes!

Hello The monitor comes with a DisplayPort 1.2 cable. I assume that your old tower does not have a DisplayPort, but a Scart connector. The problem could be solved with an adapter. As an example, see the following link: https://www.brack.ch/delock-ada... Maybe Digitec/Galaxus also has a product like this? The monitor has a top value for money. I've had it for 6 months and am very satisfied. Good luck and best wishes!

Hello, So, the HDMI->USB-C cable solution is possible, but it "eats up" a precious port on the MacBook Pro, which doesn't have many. I personally opted for the adapter solution because of this.

Yes, this should work, but I haven't tried it myself. USB C - HDMI (Type A) (2 m, HDMI) I hope this answer helps you and I would contact Digitec support.
