Hello 🙋🏻♂️ Why did you guys go for the 720+ and not the 220+? Would like to replace my aging 214play occasionally and also expand the memory. Possibly replacing the HDD's at a later date. Use the NAS as a server for 4K movies/series, storing photos and backing up my data from the cloud. As a player I have Infuse, which plays everything without transcoding...

The Synology newsletter announcing the DS720+ dun DS720+ included two links to the products. Hello I bought the DS720+ and would need to connect the following camera (Dahua: VDA-IPCHFW5842EPZES2) to it. Unfortunately, there is no information on compatibility on Synology. Can anyone help me further if I can connect and use the cameras?

This Synology has two places for HDDs. If I now install 2x 4tb, for example, I have 8tb of storage or only 4tb because the second HDD is used as a mirror (copy). This is the case with other Synology models.

Depending on what you want: You can create a mirror (Raid 1) = 4TB with redundancy.
Or you can create a Raid 0 with 8TB (as 1 "virtual" disk) without redundancy or simply create JBOD (just a bunch of disks) with 2x 4TB = 8TB on 2 disks. You can configure this in the storage manager. LG
