Does anyone know if the WLAN can be deactivated and if so, how? I haven't found anything in the menu.

I too am an IT layman and wonder if this product (Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-IW-HD: Inwall AP) can be integrated into an existing mesh from AVM (Fritz!Box). I am not interested in the professional installation of the hardware, but only in whether this is possible on the software side (if you can call it that). Mesh from AVM is available, now I just want to integrate this product into the mesh. Can anyone give me a competent answer? Thanks for the support!

Hello Twingo, the above link lists, among others, the devices "UAP-AC-IW-PRO" and "UAP-IW" (presumably "UAP-AC-IW" is meant): https://inwall.ui.com However, the above-mentioned item no. 9621005 is a "UAP-IW-HD", which is a model of the "Generation 3 Devices (AC Wave 2)": https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012192813#faq-device-gen This model is not yet on the EOL list.

I have heard that this product is discontinued by Ubiquiti/Unifi, is under Long Term Support and will be End of Life in the next 12 months. So no more updates etc would be available. Is this true?

See above answer, "UAP-IW-HD" is a Generation 3 device and is not yet on the EOL list: help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012192813#faq-device-gen

I am an IT layman and not sure what additional devices I need to make this access point work. Do I understand correctly that I only need to connect a switch between my Sunrise router and the access point so that I can supply the access point with PoE via the switch? Is this switch (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/ubiquiti-us-8-60w-switch-6027156) enough or do I need this one (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/ubiquiti-us-8-150w-switch-5776956)? Do I need any other devices for the whole thing to work? Thanks for the support!

Hello The access point must be supplied with power via PoE, that is correct. However, a PoE-capable switch does not necessarily have to be used, a PoE injector that complies with the 802.3af (PoE) or 802.3at (PoE+) standards is also sufficient, for example: Ubiquiti U-POE-AF (PoE Injector) If the AccessPoint is supplied with an 802.af device, it must be ensured that the PoE output integrated in the AP no longer functions, or that this output is only operated as a "normal" network output without PoE. When operating with one of the suggested switches, the "small" one is sufficient without any problems - I also operate the device with the 60W switch: Ubiquiti US-8-60W At least for commissioning, the installation of the Unifi Network Controller (https://www.ui.com/download/unifi ) on a PC is necessary. If you want to use advanced features of the Unifi world, it is also necessary to have the controller software running all the time. If you don't have a PC running all the time, an alternative is the Cloudkey which provides the controller software: Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key (Network Accessory)

No, the AP cannot be used as a repeater. A controller is also required to administer the AP.

I have a new flat and Feller Delizio cans, does anyone know if the width to the screws left and right are compliant ? I measure 5.3cm centre to centre. Thank you very much.
