Mhhh any device with 16GB RAM. Depending on how big your screen is, you will quickly reach the limit with 8GB and the device will start lagging. Happened to me all the time on my Surface Book with Krita when I was using 5K resolution with multiple layers. Just filter for 16GB and get the device that suits you best.

A normal tablet with the screen switched off does not work any more than this Wacom. Perhaps a graphics tablet without a display is meant, they are cheaper and work differently. You draw in a different place than you see. If that doesn't bother you, don't spend money on a Cintiq.

This tablet is very good as a first tablet and there is no drawing software included. The choice between the cintiq 16 and the wacom one is mainly a question of size and budget. The Cintiq 16 has a better pen and a more comfortable screen size for my use. If you don't have any software and want to do this as a hobby and want something powerful and easy to use you might also want to look at an iPad with Apple Pencil. My big problem with these machines is that they are not nomadic at all, lots of big cables and adapters, no carrying case, etc...

Ubuntu has Wacom support out-of-the-box. For me, it works without any problems under Ubuntu 18.04. The tablet is like a second screen, the pen like a mouse. Should therefore work with any software. Whether pen input is an advantage with Blender, I can't judge, I don't use Blender. But it's fun with Krita or Gimp.

Hello Melanie, no as far as I know. What I can highly recommend for the Wacom Cintiq 16 is the additional stand. I have set it up so that the cable is looped through it and is therefore not visible on the table. With the computer, unfortunately, the three cable harnesses / connections are needed (HDMI, USB and power). USB-C would certainly be a great option for this device but I don't think this can be solved with a cable as this is not provided for in the design of the Cintiq 16. For USB-C connectivity you would have to use the Cintiq Pro 16.
