I can definitely recommend WD. I have one that has been in service for 9 years. Just make sure there is enough air around the drive and that it is not sitting on anything warm. Heat is bad for hard drives. Seagate is also good. I haven't had a Toshiba that convinced me yet. They got too hot quickly and were louder than the competition.
