Question about Sony MDR-HW700DS Wireless Surround Headphones
I have read the answer regarding the accessories "Sonos PlayBar". So I have to install the base station between the TV and the Sonos PlayBar. Everything is clear as far as it goes. What I don't quite understand is how I can keep the. Is physical on/off really the only possibility with the Sonos PlayBar or what have I overlooked here? I have a Samsung UE65UH7580. Thanks in advance.
I'm not quite sure about this because I don't use OpticalAudio but do everything via HDMI, but:
For HDMI, there is a setting in the menu of the headphone base station called "HDMI Pass Through" On or Off. This causes my downstream AV receiver to still receive an audio signal, or not. Now it also has a "TV+HP Audio Out" On or Off in the same menu. I assume, without guaranteeing, that this is the same function for optical audio. According to the manual (see Downloads, page 2 of the 163KB file), it should at least be this way.
Switching off the PlayBar would therefore not be necessary, but if necessary you can tell the headphone base station that it does not output sound at the OpticalOut.
