Do I need to apply thermal paste to the CPU with this cooler?

I also ask myself whether I will use thermal paste on the new computer or not.
In principle, the paste is there to smooth out the smallest cracks.
The quality of the paste should therefore be high, not that it still insulates!
The cooler you have has a copper surface! Copper has the highest thermal conductivity.
394 W/m*K
If you look at the pastes, there are those with 5.60W/m K and the Leader

around 73W/m K.
The copper on the fan will probably be absolutely flat.
I wouldn't put it on directly, and if I did, I would use this Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal (1g, 73W/m K), which is liquid metal, not a paste!

If the cooling capacity is ok, everything is fine! If you put it on and it sucks, you have a mess!

As I remember from the old days, use your thermal paste directly on the CORE!
Smearing it on the lid like you normally do makes less sense, but if you have a good vent, it will fit!

You take the lid off (which is fun in itself), remove the thermal paste that is between the core and the lid, and you have a high quality liquid metal on the core! If you fuck up, and the sauce runs down, it can connect contacts on the chip (normally it's all sealed, but there are open pins you have to connect if you want to unlock the overclocking).
And it's best not to put the lid on at all! No idea if there are copper lids to buy?
You then have the fan directly on the core! you also have to be careful so that you give even pressure on the fan, because if you tilt the pressure, a part of the core could break off and bye CPU!
