Question about SANDISK Portable SSD

Somehow the maximum speed does not work (max is 40MB/s) while the extreme version works fine on the same port with the existing driver. Apparently, this version of the SSD requires a driver that is not pre-installed under Win11...

I can confirm this. Unfortunately, I can't rate it below because my first device was returned/replaced and, strangely enough, you're not allowed to rate it after that (smoked out directly during the first use). Do not buy the device. The read/write speeds on USB3.0 are subterranean. I've never seen more than 100MB/sec but it fluctuates extremely (down to 2-3MB/sec) and on average I end up with 20-40MB/sec (write). On USB2.0 it is completely unusable, it gets so slow that Windows starts spitting out errors. I have never seen such lousy values on my PC (Windows 10). On top of that, I couldn't copy 200GB to my 1TB device (I got an error that 400GB were missing, very funny). So I formatted the brand new device first, then at least that worked. What's the point of that? All in all, the device is trash, I wouldn't store important data or even backups with it. So it has pretty much failed in its purpose.
