The silo scale for container - level - extraction - monitoring provides the ability to effectively and reliably ensure the supply of a production facility. It can not only monitor the current fill level of the container but also the continuous weight reduction. With the monitoring of the current fill level, the silo scale can prompt the machine operator in a timely manner to refill the container. To this end, the silo scale is equipped with three passive switching contacts (potential-free contacts / optocoupler outputs). One contact can be used, for example, for a green light that is active when the current state of the container is satisfactory. When the container reaches a minimum threshold, a second contact can activate a yellow or red light, prompting the user to refill. The lights are not included in the delivery but can be ordered optionally.

The second monitoring capability of the silo scale is the continuous weight reduction. This function can monitor the filling processes of the machines and report discrepancies in material extraction. A weight reduction per time unit can be set in the silo scale, for example, g/min, kg/min, g/h, or kg/h. In the event of deviations in material extraction, the silo scale activates a switching contact that can be used to trigger, for example, a siren or light, or to shut down the machine. The goal of this monitoring is to prevent production machines from running empty due to clogged extraction screws, thereby significantly reducing downtime and rework times.
