The Scotch® Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Tape 45 combines the excellent electrical properties of a polyester film with the high stability of a fiberglass fabric tape. This 0.177 millimeter thick insulating tape withstands a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and belongs to insulation class A with a temperature resistance of up to 105 °C. At the same time, the printable polyester tape is coated with a flame-retardant, extremely strong heat-curing silicone adhesive and has a very high tensile strength. Therefore, it is suitable for all types of bundling, fastening, and hanging with high mechanical loads. Due to its extreme tear resistance, the tape is also suitable for short-circuit current-resistant bundling of medium voltage cables. Since the transparent polyester tape is not UV-resistant, a cover with PVC insulating tape is required for outdoor applications.
