Kim moves house and settles in: The hobby room (part 6)

I'm currently moving into a bigger flat and looking for new furniture. In this series, I'm browsing through the Galaxus shop for each of my rooms and introducing some products that I can imagine using in my new place. Today I'm continuing with the hobby room.

I'm really sorry. It's been a few weeks since the last instalment of my "Kim is moving" series, but not too much has changed in the meantime. My small room (about nine square metres), which I plan to use as a hobby or sports room, was mainly crammed with boxes. If you've moved house a few times, you might be familiar with this. But now it's finally time to furnish this room too. I already own many of the planned furnishings: a sideboard, a cross trainer, an old TV. But a few more details can't hurt.

In this article, I'll introduce you to five products from the Galaxus shop that I'm considering for furnishing my hobby room. At the end of this series, I'll show you what I actually chose and how I fared. And sorry: some products may not be available in all country shops.

The small room was previously used as a storage room, but is set to become a hobby/sports room in the medium term.

1. weight bench

A weight bench has been on my wish list for a long time. In my last flat, I had to make do with a gym ball or a chair for some of my exercises. I never felt really safe or comfortable doing this. My object of desire is the weight bench from Profihantel.

It offers up to seven different training positions for the back support and two sitting positions. The weight bench is said to be stable even under very high loads. The manufacturer states the maximum load as 550 kilograms. At the same time, it is said to be foldable and easy to store. This is ideal in my small room, as I want to accommodate at least one cross trainer and a large sideboard.

2. floor protection mat

In my opinion, a floor protection mat is a must for a sports room. It should protect the floor as a base for the sports equipment and have a sound-insulating effect. It is also warm to the feet and offers greater comfort than the bare floor. Even if you only kneel on it for a short time. It is also non-slip and increases safety when performing sports exercises. In my opinion, I can't go far wrong with plain black.

I already have a mat like this for my cross trainer. However, it's not big enough for the weight bench. I'll either buy a larger mat for both machines or use two individual floor mats. I'll have to take a closer look when the weight bench arrives.

3. printer cabinet

As you may already know from my previous article, my desk and PC form the centrepiece of my large living room. However, my printer is a thorn in my side. I hardly ever print anything and the device is getting in the way more and more in my living room. That's why I want to banish the printer to the hobby room and am looking for a kind of printer cabinet so that I can put the printer on it in the corner.

The "Tilus" printer cabinet from VCM offers additional storage space with six compartments. The office cabinet stands on four castors and measures 75 x 60 x 35 centimetres (H x W x D).
