By placing the access point centrally and arranging the extenders in a spherical pattern. For example, AP in the centre of the ground floor, extenders at the front and back of the ground floor, and the same on the upper and lower floors. Simply so that each EX has approximately the same distance to the AP. It would be wrong to place the AP in the basement and then the EX in the ground floor and first floor. The EXs show the reception strength of the AP by means of LEDs. In this way, the AP and EX can be positioned optimally.
Hey Thomas The Netgear EX7500 Nighthawk works with all commercially available routers that have wifi. I use two wifi networks as an example: 1. Swisscom Internetbox 2, performance increase approx. 60% plus, router in the basement, Netgear EX7500 in the living area, ground floor, wooden house, wooden ceilings. 2. Devolo Powerline 1200erDlan/500er Wifi network, performance increase approx. 40% plus, Devolo Dlan 1200er at the router in the basement, first WIFI 500er Powerline in the entrance area, ground floor. Basically it is an advantage if the Centro Business is placed somewhere on top and not under a table or in a cupboard, then the Netgear EX7500 has an easier time connecting and amplifying, so it helps to try out where the most favourable location would be. I hope this has helped. Greetings Gaetano
"Tri-band mesh extender compatible with any WLAN router".
I was not satisfied with the range and sold the X4S. Instead I bought the Netgear Orbi, which now covers my whole house without any problems.
In principle, yes, but the AP must be central. The so-called daisy chain, i.e. from the AP to the EXT to the EXT to the EXT, does not work and if it does, then only very badly (unstable and slow). Netgear therefore advises against it.
You can set up the repeater via the web interface (see manual). It is difficult to say whether it is possible to control switching on and off in combination with the time.
In an old building, the extender works quite well over 2 floors (own experience).
I have the Nighthawk X4S AC2200 EX7500 model: works fine together with the Wingo router. My version doesn't have an Ethernet port, so I can't say anything about that.
