Seagate Backup Plus Desktop
Seagate Backup Plus Desktop
I bought this HD about a year ago and can give you the following answer: Yes the mains plug of the HP HD power supply can be used with my Seagate 8TB. However, the HD requires 2 amps of current. So the HP power supply must have 2A or more. There are also HP power supplies with only 1.5A. Additional note: The Seagate 8TB HD is extremely slow when writing a lot of very small files (clip art etc.) 50 - 300Kb/s. This is in contrast to other Seagates. This is in contrast to other Seagate HDs (e.g. 2.5 inch 4TB) or all other products from other manufacturers that I have used.
Hello mannherr Unfortunately, Seagate does not provide any information on this.
Of course, a USB 3.0 cable is also included in the scope of delivery. Scope of delivery: Seagate Backup Plus Desktop 8 TB, USB 3.0 cable, power supply, installation instructions Attached is an unboxing video of the 4TB version (same content but with CH adapter here): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Peq6BQ6ds
Seems to be the case - you can learn to read NTFS on a Mac with the help of software :-) so I can well imagine that.
No, it does not. However, it automatically switches to a sleep mode when inactive.
This model should work with USB 1.0 and 2.0, but very slowly.
In this case, the hard disk should not make any noise; it switches off automatically a few minutes after the last access. In some cases, the power supply unit supplied makes a constant whistling noise as soon as it is connected to the power supply. However, the replacement power supply unit (supplied free of charge after calling the hotline) is noiseless, so there is no need to unplug the hard drive or switch off the power strip.
