Questions about Backup Plus Hub

I would like to use the Seagate Backup Plus Hub with my Synology DS216Play to centralize all the image backups of the different computers in the family. Each image would be about 300 GB. Is this possible via the USB 3 port of the Synology? Speed is not a criterion.

The Seagate has USB 3.0, my PC only has 2.0. Using it I hope should not be a problem. But the data transfer speed will remain 2.0, correct?

Does the hard disk automatically go into standby mode when not in use. I would like to connect it to the Swisscom Internetbox 2 via USB.

The disk is attached to my laptop and naturally goes into standby when there is no activity. Commendably, it does not even start when I activate the laptop and the USB contact is thus established, but only when there is effective access.

This is a normal external hard drive. There are software packages included for backup scenarios etc. but you can leave them out if you don't need them. Greetings

Hi! Does the Backup Plus Hub in black 8TB also work with Time Machine from Apple? According to the Seagate homepage, it would need the version in white and "Mac".
