You have to ask directly in your order that you want imperatively different serial numbers.e longer because they will have to repatriate discs in their digérants shop and to sort out according to your request but as you wrote it it is possible that you already doubt the answer now it is up to them to satisfy the customer.. or not ...

The cache is 512 MB and the storage technology is Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR). The hard drive is filled with helium. The maximum workload rate per year is 550 TB, and the maximum internal transfer rate is 2951 MB/s. The maximum sustained data transfer rate at the edge of the disc is around 247 MB/s.

The aircraft is just a Seagate Marketing symbol for the Exos series and has nothing to do with "Surveillance". - Exos = Enterprise HDDs for data centres: high capacity, 24/7 operation, workloads up to 550 TB/year, SAS or SATA. - SkyHawk = Surveillance HDDs for video surveillance: optimised for many write streams, 24/7, but lower workload (approx. 180 TB/year). - IronWolf / IronWolf Pro = NAS HDDs for SOHO/SMB. So: Exos X20 clearly belongs in the enterprise sector, despite the "aeroplane logo". SkyHawk is used for surveillance systems, not Exos.

Exactly - the 1200 MB/s refers only to the SAS-12G interface (theoretical bandwidth). The actual data rate of the Seagate Exos X18 (10 TB, SAS, CMR) is approx. 249 MB/s (sustained transfer rate). Anything above this is a protocol value, not the actual disc performance.

The main difference between the two hard drives lies in the interface and the encryption technology. The Seagate Exos X24 SAS 24TB (ST24000NM007H) uses a SAS interface, while the Exos X24 SATA 24Go 7200tpm 512Mo (ST24000NM005H) has a SATA interface. In addition, the SAS version often offers SED (Self-Encrypting Drive) technology, which is not explicitly mentioned in the SATA version. Here are the most important differences: - Interface: SAS vs. SATA - Encryption: SED technology in the SAS version - Area of application: Both are suitable for enterprise applications, but the SAS version is often found in environments with higher requirements for data transfer rates and security.

The Seagate EXOS X18 (16 TB, 3.5", CMR) with product ID ST16000NM000J is not officially listed in the Synology compatibility list, but it can still be used in a Synology NAS such as the DS723+. - There are reports that these hard drives work in Synology NAS systems even though they are not on the compatibility list. However, there may be system warnings in the DSM (DiskStation Manager) software. - It is important to note that the use of non-Compatibility List hard drives in certain Synology enterprise-class products may affect support. It is advisable to contact Synology support directly, especially for higher end devices. Overall, the EXOS X18 hard drives are technically compatible, but there may be slight limitations and warnings.

Technically (Sata 3.5") yes, but this HDD is not on Synology's compatibility list. I myself have Exos X16 16TB in use which run without any problems. As a test I had 2 X20 with 20TB in use which were also recognised without problems. (Note when creating the raid groups that the HDD is not on the list and therefore there is no support)

And you don't need to open the packaging to read the serial number. With a strong light source, you can see the serial number through the anti-static film in which the hard drive is wrapped

For those of you who don't understand and are not in the business of selling 2023 hdd from 2021 (almost 3 years later), I'd like to remind you that in 2021 with covid19 we were being conned into saying "there are no more hdd blah blah blah....and their price was catastrophic" so where did this 2021 stock come from that didn't even exist? Where did digitec find them? we were told the same thing for graphics cards and the ps5 ... remember during covid19! The hdd seagate exos X are the most reliable hdd in the world and are indestructible, people having problems with them are just iron breakers unable to take care of a piece of high clockwork. The hdd seagate and wd were manufactured in Thailand in 2021 but and yes it is the whole the difference (or a part) in 2023 the hdd are manufactured in Europe in the country of the gouda quite in the north of us and are much more reliable and did not undergo 200000km of transport and their firmware and parts such the heads of reading are different. The X16 X18 X20 X22 are reliable and indestructible (not like the barracuda which are fragile and surely equipped with a timer to make them hs) but if like me galaxus-digitec sells you those with the "white" star of 2021 then there is a big problem!!!! Because they are not exos x but skyhawk reconditioned and the I do not accept that I am sold that! Moreover deception because they were cheaper and hid the tree behind the forest, the price of those of 2023 are more expensive! It's deceptive selling and it's illegal, galaxus digitec should mention that it's old stock. If you buy an LG Oled you expect the latest version to be delivered to you, don't you? Not a refurbished one from 2 or 3 years ago, that makes sense, but some people just don't get it. Those having problems after 1 hour of use with their disk should know that they exceeded the target value of use of the disk in their environments and exceeded the maximum temperature value. Having had 2 normal hdd exos enterprise that caught fire in 2016 because they were too hot and well they still work as well afterwards ...
