Is it for a Mac or PC installation, and what should be installed at all ?
Fujitsu has released a new version of ScanSnap Home for Mac on... Dec 19, 2019 (see:

In addition, the ScanSnap iX1500 supplied by Digitec came with even older firmware, which, at least with MacOS Mojave did NOT work (I bought two iX1500 at the same time). First of all, I would advise you to connect your ScanSnap to your computer with a USB cable, then download/install a firmware updater from Fujitsu (for Mac or PC depending on your situation). From then on, it's smooth sailing installing ScanSnap Home, also via WiFi.
I have been using ScanSnaps daily for more than 15 years: absolutely excellent; the new software (now High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina compatible - not yet tested with W10) has become even better.
