Product details

Highly transparent with a blue undertone, Permanent Alizarin Crimson is a vibrant red color.

Please note that due to a pigment change, there may be two different product formulations in circulation. The pigment PR206 is being phased out and replaced by PR179. PR179 offers a color that technically cannot be closer to the original, but is not identical.

Our professional watercolor paint continues to be formulated based on our founding principles to create unparalleled colors that provide artists with the broadest and most balanced selection of pigments, just as it was in 1835 when William Winsor and Henry Newton introduced the world's first moist watercolors.

Our product line uses only the finest pigments, which is why it is known for its brilliance, permanence, and color intensity. With 79 individual colors, we offer the largest selection of modern and traditional pigments.

Formulated using the highest quality methods to achieve optimal pigment distribution, our unmatched transparency means that every wash remains vibrant and luminous.

104 out of 108 colors in the professional watercolor range are rated AA or A for permanence, ensuring that the colors used today will look the same for generations to come.

Many artists appreciate granulation to achieve texture on paper. Discover some of our beautiful granulating colors to create your palette, and learn more about minimizing and maximizing this effect.

Our professional watercolor range offers more than 30 granulating individual colors that are lightfast and permanent. Try some of these colors; mix and combine them to create extraordinary super-granulated colors.
